TEN LIVES CLUB located in Buffalo, NY "Ten Lives Club began in January 2001 with a dream to be able to save as many cats as possible. In December 2004, TLC reached a huge milestone in that they adopted out their 2000th cat! That means 2,000 cats were saved and kept alive and adopted into new homes thanks to Ten Lives Club. Ten Lives Club is a registered non-profit organization that is made up of volunteers all devoted to the club's mission, "to promote, further and enhance all cat life". All cats matter to us no matter if a stray, a personal pet, a feral (wild cat) or a sick cat. Once a cat is surrendered to our group a thorough evaluation is done by one of our affiliated vets and all the necessary testing and shots are given. Most important, they are spayed and neutered. TLC believes strongly that the answer to the serious pet overpopulation problem is to spay and neuter!" | ||
BLACK DOG, SECOND CHANCE located in Akron, NY Our Mission: For whatever reason, people do not like black dogs. They are rarely adopted from shelters and the most commonly euthanized. They are frequently ignored even though they may be friendly and well behaved, while the other lighter-colored dogs get adopted quickly. Whatever the reason, it is true, these dogs generally wait THREE TIMES longer to finally be adopted. In turn, the shelters give up on them and they are euthanized. Our mission is to rescue these black dogs, just moments before euthanasia, and help them find their forever homes through an adoption process. Although we are not of 501 status, we work solely on a volunteer basis and any money donated to our organization goes to pay for much needed vet bills. Please consider adopting a black dog today. But wait! We don't just rescue black dogs! We rescue any dog that is typically left behind by other rescues. They just happen to be mostly black ones, but some aren't. Please note that we are also working in conjunction with many other rescue organizations. The dogs you see on this web site could be from other rescues, or they are in our own rescue care. We work with local rescue groups, which are of 501 status, and volunteer at various shelters. We also participate in dog transports for various rescues across the nation. We cross post dogs on the internet and have successfully rescued dogs by merely emailing other rescues. Some of the dogs we save don't even reach us. If you are looking for a particular type of dog, please email us. We can find you the right dog!
